There are many ways you can make your business card stand out and deliver a great first impression of your brand. We've selected some top choices we have at our disposal when considering a new design.
Portrait or landscape?
We often provide a portrait design option but most brands feel most comfortable with a landscape orientation for their cards. This leaves a great opportunity to stand out if you'd like to be a bit different. It is a fresh perspective without feeling too radical.
Single or double sided?
There are many benefits to going double sided as long as you keep a check on the amount of content you have. Two sides of a busy layout is no-ones favourite card! Keep it simple, be generous with space and allow for some subtle branding devices.
A spot of varnish?
A subtle spot varnish can elevate the simple to the extraordinary. Use it sparingly and make sure the base is as matt as possible to get maximum effect.
Duplex – or even triplex?
This is for those who crave a seriously chunky card as several pieces of card is laminated together. This used to be incredibly expensive but is now affordable thanks to online printing companies. Extra flair is provided when you mix different colours of the card.
Include your strapline?
The benefit of including your strapline is that it provides a greater understanding of what you do and can help differentiate you if you are handing out cards at a busy networking event. The downside is if you want to change it, your business cards will also have to be updated.
A different format?
This is on the brave side but it really does help you stand out if you have a different shaped business card. If you go for a smaller size, it is very important that the thickness is generous so that it does not feel small and flimsy.
Other requests can be to include extra white space to allow notes to be written on the card and different kinds of lamination to provide durability and finishing options.
